This Is Me

Let’s get to know each other!

I’m Laura. WELCOME and THANK YOU for stopping by and checking me out! I am looking forward to getting to know you, too.  I would love to hear from you so leave me comments or even email me at!

So, without further ado, let the games begin!

I am in my mid 40s (and thanks for not asking!) and teach at –risk high school students. I have been blessed to find my niche for my career.

I had an opportunity to leave my home state of Kansas and move to Texas 20+ years ago and grabbed it with both hands! I have never regretted my move, but miss my parents terribly! Needless to say there have been many car trips back home to visit.

I have also been blessed to have finally found my better half. He is a Lieutenant and will be referred to as Lt. He encourages me and boy, does that man make me laugh! I can’t wait to see where our lives will take us! Oh and by the way, he hates to have his picture taken so don't expect many of him, but I'll try.

I have a fur baby, Gavin, a West Highland Terrier. He is 100% boy, spoiled and has such a personality! He is trying to talk me into letting him to post some blogs, so stay tune and see if he gets his way!

I also have 2 older sisters (yes I am the youngest and admit to being spoiled) nephews, a niece-in law, great-niece and great-nephew. I also have to give a shout out to my friends who keep me sane, stand by me and give me many giggle fests!

Other bits about me: I love to travel both in the states and internationally. My oldest sister, D, and I do an annual trip to New York City in December getting ready for the holidays. Music soothes my soul and my taste in music is eclectic. I enjoy the different seasons, but fall is my favorite, yet I don’t like being cold. Lt and I have many a putt putt competitions (I usually win). I need laughter in my life and I do give and receive laughter in spades!

What’s in a name?

I credit the name of the blog to Lt. Whenever I am discouraged or frustrated, he encourages me and says  “We got this, babe!” and he is usually right!

What it’s all about?

I am on a journey to not only live life, but also savor and enjoy life more. This blog is part of my journey to share how I do that, how it goes, and hopefully encourage others to bring in more joy to their life. It’s scary, but “we really do got this!
