Holy Hodgepodge!

Yep, you guessed it…HODGEPODGE WEDNESDAY! Joyce, From This Side of the Pond, has whipped out her trusty questions and on with the show! I hope you all have enjoyed our Wednesdays. I know I have! If you want to join us, please do!

With that being said, Joyce is moving (yay and scary!) so there will be NO Hodgepodge June 10. Totally understandable and we are wishing Joyce an easy and quick move!

Drum roll please…..

1. What's something you're looking forward to in the month of June?
Let's see…Going to two concerts: The Rolling Stones and Whitesnake. I will also be taking care of Daddy more this month. It is the month of Father's Day, but it would have also been his 56 wedding anniversary following Mama's passing in April. This will be hard on him and I (and the family) will want to ease it for him. Other than that, I will be teaching summer school but will also have time to relax. Not exciting, huh?

2. In what way have you come full circle?

The first thing I think of is taking care of my mama and now, in a way, my daddy. They were always there taking care of us, helping us, and now we had/have to do for them. I wouldn't have it any other way.

3. Lonely Planet lists 10 spots in America you should see in 2015 and the reasons why. How many on the list have you seen? Which one on the list would you most like to see?

Queens NY, Western South Dakota, New Orleans, Colorado River Region, North Conway NH, Indianapolis IN, Greenville SC, Oakland CA, Duluth MN, and the Mount Shasta Region CA

Let's see, I am a traveller and…

1. I have been to Rapid City, SD for Mt Rushmore. Will that count as "Western South Dakota"?
2. We took Mama and Daddy to New Orleans before Hurricane Katrina.
3. I fell in love with North Conway NH on leaf peeping vacation Fall 2012 and can't wait to go back!
4.  I can't claim Oakland because I only used it as a place to sleep before flying out the next day. Nor can I claim Queens even though I go to NY every year (only stay in Manhattan cause we are wussy women and don't venture past SoHo!)
5. Lastly, we vacationed 2013 in Northern California and went to Lassen National Volcano National Park for the day. Had I realized we were only an 1 1/2 away from Mt. Shasta, we would have ventured up there a little too! Dang it!

Now I know other destinations we need to travel to, especially after looking at the pictures!

4. A song that describes your mood right now?

It doesn't describe my mood, but my students have been singing "Black Betty" by Ram Jam so that song is on my mind and I can't get rid of it!!

5. Strawberry ice cream, strawberry short cake, strawberry pie, or strawberries right off the vine...your favorite?

Hmmm if I made it, strawberries off the vine. If is was given to me…strawberry pie, but totally love strawberry cake!! Has anyone else had it?

6. Aesop's birthday is celebrated on June 4th, although there is some disagreement as to whether or not that's accurate, or if he was even a real person. Regardless, the name Aesop is associated to this day with many well known fables. Which of the following best applies to something in your life right now? The Tortoise and the Hare (Slow and Steady wins the race), The Ant and the Grasshopper (Be prepared), The Fox and the Goat (Look before you leap) or The Crow and the Pitcher (Necessity is the mother of invention)?

Definitely The Tortoise and the Hare and The Ant and the Grasshopper. Being the end of the school year, my students returning on track and our high school graduation is on June 4th, both of these fables can be used. I think they are self explanatory, don't you?

7. The answer is yes...what's the question?

Will you give me a million dollars?

8. Insert your own random thought here.

You will get ADD if you are around anyone that is ADD. Just Saying….
