Hodgepodge Wednesday is Back!

As always, thank you Joyce from This Side of the Pond for your time and your questions! Join me for today's Hodgepodge! I would love to hear your answers!

1. June 23rd is National Pink Day. What's your favorite something pink?

Something pink? I do have some decorations that are pink, but can't think of anything I have that IS pink. Isn't that funny? I love pink but do not own anything pink!

Wait, I have it! Strawberry cake (or cupcakes!). Oh and pink gelato (strawberry) from Italy.

2. What did you enjoy most about gym class when you were in school? How about the least?

Enjoyed: "Shower Power!" That is what our gym teacher would say. That meant it was OVER!
Hated: Gym class. I am not athletic: never have been, never will be. I hated everything about it and am glad it is over! LOL

3. What memory is brought to mind by the smell of roses?

I really don't desire roses…won't deny them, but don't ask for them. The memory I have about roses is when my ex-husband left me and then wanted to get back together and he sent me the only roses he ever sent. I'm like, WTH?! So I don't have good memories of them.

On a side note, it has been 20 years at least since we divorced and I have never talked to him. So what does he do last week? Asked to be my friend of FB. WTH? No, just no, nope, never, and whatever made you think I would accept? Honestly, I found it more humorous than anything else.

Thanks for the memories, roses!

4. Do you prefer to read or write?

Both! I wish that I could write a novel or book. Nothing big or lengthy. I do have something percolating but have not started it. I like to tell people I have a BS in BS! That is what is great about writing. But I love to read on my Kindle Paperwhite. Best present LT ever gave me.

I guess I should have prefaced, I am an English teacher so I enjoy and promote both!

5. Sam Keen is quoted as saying, 'Deep summer is when laziness finds respectability.'Would you agree? Is laziness ever respectable? How will you be lazy this summer?

Working as a teacher AND doing summer school, I totally agree that laziness is respectable…for us. We have earned the right to take it easy. And to be honest, we are never completely lazy. We are always preparing for next year. If you work, it is respectable to be lazy. If you don't work you already ARE lazy so, no respectability….UNLESS you are retired. They you EARNED it…enjoy it!

How will I be lazy? Teaching summer school only takes up half my day so I end up going home and taking a nap! I guess I just don't do lists of things that need to be done or cleaned like some would in the summer. I just want to relax, revitalize and refresh for next year. A beach would help with that but not happening. We are doing a lot of concerts so I guess that and visiting my dad in Oklahoma and hopefully getting him out and explore the area.

6. The Florida Keys, Disney World, or a resort somewhere on the Gulf Coast...which Florida destination would you choose (and why) if the trip were today?

Easy, Ft Walton/Pensacola area and it would be a resort…all inclusive resort. I love the beach and I want the best view of the ocean. Plus it is closer to Texas and I can be there sooner to enjoy!

7. What question do you hate to answer?

Right now it is "How's your mom?" Not everyone knows she passed away in April so it is still so fresh and painful to have to replay it over and over.

8.  Insert your own random thought here.

Now that you brought up laziness, relaxing and beaches, I am really tired of doing summer school. I want to relax and hear the waves and reading a book! First session of summer school will not get here soon enough. Hope I have the energy and desire to go back to second session!!
