Hodgepodge Fun!

It is that time again! Join us as Joyce from This Side of the Pond leads us through probing questions.

1.  Did you make someone laugh yesterday? Was it intentional?

Anytime anyone laughs around me, I do it intentionally. I LOVE to make people laugh. It is my gift.

2. What's a simple question with a complicated answer?

Have you set a wedding date?  I get this all the time now that we are engaged. I don't even want to go there. As LT says "That is a whole other Oprah!"

3. Rhododendrons or azaleas...you have to choose. Are either currently blooming in your yard

This is easy: Azaleas! We go to Tyler, Tx every year for the Azalea Trail. It is where you wonder in peoples yards on the trail and look at the azaleas and other flora. LT and I ended up buying two different azalea bushes. They kinda bloomed a little, but not as many buds as usual. I haven't killed them yet, so there is hope! You can read about our planting of the azaleas here.

4. May 21st is National Waitstaff Day. Have you ever worked as a waiter/waitress? How would you rate the experience? What was the best/worst part of the job?

I have never worked as a waitstaff. I have worked in the service industry as a maid and receptionist. I think waitstaff have a hard job. People are very demanding. It would be hard to keep an calm face and not whip out the snarky sarcasm!

5. What fashion trend for women should be outlawed? How about one

Girls who wear tights and leggings for pants with a crop top as an outfit not to workout.  You may be fit but no one wants to see how tight it is!  Also any older woman dressing as a younger woman, even teenagery. There is a time to let it go, and ladies that fall in this category…let it go.

As for guys…skinny jeans. I don't know who thought this was a good idea but it is not. I can't even go in to what I think about it, but I will say it is not manly.

Or sagging pants. I don't want to know what color your panties are!

6. Name a writer who inspires you....now tell us why.

I love Jana DeLeon. She is so witty and funny and she makes it appear effortless. I eagerly await her next book and will go back and reread them. I wish I could write like her, but I am learning to write authentically and find my own voice. I just wish it sounded more like her! LOL

Her books: Mudbug Series and Miss Fortune Series. You will not regret either one, but I am really partial to Miss Fortune!

7. What well known quote or saying sums up your plans for today or this week?

Pull Up Your Big Girl Panties!

I got sick last night and feel like I have been run over by a big ol' Mack truck! But for me to  keep going, I have to pull up my big girl panties! No whining allowed. Too much to do.

8.  Insert your own random thought here.

I will be going to my all-school reunion this weekend. We are such a small school we just do it for every year. My dad, both sisters and I graduated from the same school. We will be taking dad up. I graduated in 1988 so this would be year 27. Wow! I have been out a long time. Honestly, I am only going back for my dad. Those I want to keep up with I do and those I don't, well, there is a reason. LOL At least I will have something for the blog!
