A to Z Challenge

Challenges make you either rise to the occasion or crash and burn in a bloody fire heap. Taking this blogging challenge can go either way for me!

The A to Z Challenge is to post everyday (except Sundays) and have the them start with a letter of the  alphabet which corresponds with the days of the month, i.e. April 1= A, April 2= B, etc.

Starting to schedule some of my posts to help out with time constraints.
Join me on this fiery ride as I count down how I Got This From A to Z! Starts tomorrow! Woo Hoo!

If there are anything you want to know about me, give me a shout out or email me and I will try my best to answer your questions!

Spring Break Where Did You Go?

How can Spring Break end already? Didn't we just have snow last week?

Our school Spring Break is usually the third week of March. Not this year. It approached faster than a hormonal woman racing for a chocolate cake (yes, from experience, sheesh!)

I went and spent most of the week with my parents. Momma had an amazing couple of days. Was it because she had an appointment with a psychologist for her depression? Was it because her daughters were coming up to spend a week with them? Or was it because Daddy was going to be gone a week? We may never know and you can chose any of them as the answer. I firmly believe it was due to Daddy leaving, but we will let that be our secret.

It was amazing to have more of my Momma back than ever before. And then…wham, bam, thank you ma'am, the feeble, incoherent, pain riddled mother was back for her doctor appointment and chemo treatment. It is hard to see a total switch in personalities. Was it truly pain or was it white coat syndrome? And why did it extend an extra day? Was it because Daddy was coming home?

On Thursday, we tag teamed and I handed off the taking-care-of-mom-baton to my other sister and I boot-scooted home to get ready for the annual St. Patrick's Day Parade. I will not bore you with another round of pictures of the parade. It was the same as last year and the year before that and the year before that. You can read about it and see the pictures here.

No matter who you are, Spring Break comes quick and ends just as quickly. It doesn't matter if you sat at home the whole week, took care of your mom or took a cruise. Time is fleeting and the sands in the hour glass fall rapidly. Make the most of every moment and pray there is vacation days coming up!

Blogging Challenges

Since I  chose the word "LIVE" for my word of the year, I feel I STILL haven't worked towards it let alone doing it! So here is another opportunity I am giving myself to get out there and do it.

I have joined the A to Z Challenge for the month of April. Every day, except Sundays, I will be blogging a topic to correspond with a letter of the alphabet.

This challenge is going to be two fold. 1) I will get outside my box and "LIVE" a little more and experience life which will lead me to 2) I will be blogging more and expanding my community.
I know in the past I have been MIA. This is one way to get back into it.

You see, when mom was diagnosed with cancer, my world seemed to stop. We were focused on mom and dad and how to get through it. I spent all of July with my folks and almost all of August then my world intruded again and I had to go back to work. My life since then has consisted of having two lives: one in Texas and one in Oklahoma. The two worlds are not blended. They are separate. I feel I can't get a handle on either one. I am so glad LT has taken up my slack and contributes with the household and does his own laundry (being a firefighter taught him to be a good wife!)

So with all of this going around, I am trying to get my life back on track. Blogging is one way I want to do that. It is a great outlet for me and I LOVE to tell stories and "talk".

Join me on my journey an dlet's get to know each other and chat! I love to talk, remember! (At least I have almost a month to get ready for this challenge!)

Don't forget I am doing the 30 Days of Lists (#30lists) and will be posting this weeks lists tomorrow!

30 Days of Lists

Do you get a sense of satisfaction when you cross off something on your list? Heck, do you start a list just so you can check off what you have already done just to experience it?

Are you a type A personality and make lists for everything including but not limited to: to do lists, what to pack, what to see on vacation, what to do while visiting, meal planning, etc?

You like to journal but don't have the time and want something short, sweet and to the point?

If you said yes to anyone of these, you need to join me for my journey of 30 Days of Lists. It is a challenge by Kam from Campfire Chic and Amy of Lemon and Raspberry. They give you the topics for each day's prompt.

You decide what you are wanting to use for a journal. Pen and paper? Digital? Paints, colored pens, stamps or tapes? I ALMOST made a list of supplies, but backed off. I just decided to use what I have on hand which is a multimedia notebook in which I can use pens, pencils, watercolors, tape, or whatever floats my boat. I also used Rhonna Designs on my phone for the 1st prompt so I can post it to my Instagram account. Honestly, I didn't like how my prompt turned out. Guess I am still struggling with that nasty virus called perfectionism.

I plan to showcase my journals, but only weekly on the blog. Follow me on Instagram for my daily journals (I hope I can keep up!)

I hope you join me in my journey!
